Control room engineering

Start from the Start Menu Valmet DNA/Picture Designer and you'll get the program open as shown in the Figure 1

When you use first time the Picture Designer, you have to change also to localhost in Project settings. Reboot the Picture designer after changing the settings. See the figure 2

Choose from the main menu File/New and set the parameters from Picture/Properties, see the figure 2. Set as Picture name your own picture name. The name can be found from Control room number.

Save the picture to your own workspace using Save as.

Add the passive objects

  • add the pumps and pipes using Library/Draw. The objects open to an other window. Use copy and paste getting the objects into your own picture.
  • the control valves are also passive objects. Add from Draw/Library/Graphic symbols.

Add the active objects

  • add the shut-off valves HS-1, HS-2, and HS-3 from Block/DNAOperate library/Mgv
  • add the object for the analogy measurement  from anan menu.
  • add the pid objects for the control valves LV-1 and LV-2 from Blocks/DNAOperate library/pidn. Choose the biggest object.
  • add the object for the pump Blocks/DNAOperate library/Pmps. Note! Do not add another pummp P1 yet.

Open the properties of the active objective by double clicking the objects. The only thing you have to add is the Tag name. Use the same names that you added to the control room objects in the functin block diagram.

In the figure 6 can be seen an example of the control room display. Your version doesn't have to look the same.
